Delay in sentencing of Ronald Hewett

I read all these comments and can only think of one thing..... Spell Check People. If you want to sound like an intelligent person making intelligent points, then at least use correct english. Now, its sad what is happening to Sheriff Hewitt, but with that being said you are responsible for your actions. Just because you are the High Sheriff doesnt make you invisible to the laws. Had he run a stop sign, yeah let him go. But we are talking about some serious allegations here.

Look you people are all crazy. You make such a big deal out of such little things. ya I think its screwed up that he helped a child molister. keep in mind it was his famely. who hasnt looked the other way when its your famely up to no good. as fare as the sighns being painted. so what. at least they were doing something constructive. insted of eating donuts and haveing coffee.what happend to the old barn raison days when people helped one another. people are so gready it makes me sick. and i garn tee you that every one of you have done things that you are not proud of. well life goes on. just put him on probation.and some service work for the people. keep in mind he has never done nothen wrong before. even though when i messed up in my life. the book was thrown at me.and even 6 mounths later after all the fines and probation was over. went into my bank account and stoled 1600 and gave me back 1000 and said im sorry i made a mistake.we took out to much money. crooks. its all abought the money.belive me i know ive been here sence i was 5 years old now im 45. Ive seen it all. give it a break. I forgive every one for the way i was wronged. now i live right i save lives. and i do no wrong so i got the right to voice my appinion. not to mintune i own propity.and i pay taxes. just let him retire.for the most part he was a great sheriff. hell you guyes voted for him twice. so you tell me.

I am going through the Brunswick County Court system....I am guilty...Will admit it here, I have admitted it to my attorney....so..Now, its up to the judge....Ronald????....Your turn.......A life long resident of Brunswick County......**S**

Where were Ronald Hewett's friends whenever he needed them? It seems to me like someone should have or could have taken him aside and tried to reason with him. He certainly was under a lot of pressure and stress. Don't crucify him because of the job he did. Power tends to make people do crazy things even though they start out with good intentions. Ronald Hewett is not the only person in Brunswick or any other county that needed to be investigated and brought to justice. Look at your state senator and district attorney. There is some serious "butt kissing" going on here whenever it comes to justice being served.

Ronald E. Hewett and families I want you to know that I pray constantly for you all. I am proud of the great job done to find the killer of my niece murdered on 9-5-2006 which will be 2 years soon. I would like to say to everyone that my heart and tears are painful today. My prayers and love for you all are etched in my heart forever. The North Carolina Laws and Systems knows the correct way of dealing with anyone and that includes Ronald E. Hewett. Any Judge over any crime will do whats best in every case for he knows the law. I have faith in this case. I know delaying this court case seems wrong but there has to be a reason. My heart also goes out to everyone today. I pray for you all and also I pray for all the families of all murdered victims since September 2006. Especially the young children of each family involved. I ask for your prayers for me also. Why do you allow the delay? Because he was a well known citizen? Then you must DELAY EVERYONE'S case in Brunswick county because they have people to. THAT WAS A COMPLETELY STUPID DECISION. PUT THE IDIOT IN JAIL LIKE THE REST OF THE CRIMINIALS...DUH!

Dear Judge Britt, Careful how you handle this. The same people watching this case are the same citizens that kept a close eye on the Rep Thomas Wright case. If we smell a slap on the wrist....we'll call in the Feds to investigate. At that point, it may be too late to get him, but you'll take his fall. Just a pointer in case you need it. We respect you.....just do your job!

Dear Someone, One can only guess that you are a realitive. Ronald Hewett is a felon, a convicted felon. Should we then give all felons a light sentence? Should we sweep them from the public eye and then turn them loose? Please explain to me how you think that would be a good idea. Hewett broke the law, if this judge lets him off..I SAY GET RID OF THE JUDGE.

This is typical for a case when someone has hired a good attorney......delay the case as much as possible to get it out of the public eye. This way when the light sentence comes through there won't be as much of a public outcry. Hey everyone.....don't let this case lose your attention, and assure the judicial system that we ARE watching. As tough as Hewett was (he held a very heavy fist on criminals), I'd say he deserves the same treatment.
