Last year when I went to the Democratic HQ to pick up my Democrat yard signs, I wouldn't take a McIntyre sign, when asked why I told them he was really a republican.
I was more correct than I knew. No more straight party voting for me..........I wouldn't vote for McIntyre if he were the last living Democrat in North Carolina.

A well thought out and properly prepared health care reform bill is exactly what this country needs, but it is also exactly what we DID NOT get. Obama's efforts to jump start the economy have been such a dismal failure that they are trying to shove anything through just to say they passed health care.
This country would benefit so much more from an administration who would take the time and thought necessary to craft the proper legislation instead of simply trying to make Obama look like Superman because he did this and this and this in his first year.

Just so everyone is aware, regardless of the outcome, I will continue to NOT pay for healthcare, and I will go to the emergency room and NOT pay for it. I will simply throw the bill in the trash, and if something were to happen again I will once again go to the emergency room for free medical care.
Don't like it? Do something about it. I dare you.

Regardless which side of the issue you are on, I guess he gave you something to like since "he voted for it before he voted against it".
Less than 20 minutes before the final vote against it, McIntyre voted against the motion to recommit, which would have sent the bill back to committee to be worked on further.
Wouldn't you think if he was against the bill for whatever reason he states, he would have voted FOR sending it back to committee? Without the "moderate democrats" votes to release it to the floor, it can't pass.
This was simply a vote to keep his seat in Congress.

Do we need healthcare reform? Absolutely. But why are we so willing to turn something over to the gov't IN A HURRY that it seem few have even read or fully understand. I heard Speaker Pelosi on the radio yesterday say that if you do not buy health insurance you could go to jail. The President has said the same thing & used the anology of auto insurance, however, you are not required to purchase auto insurance if you do not make the choice to drive. My question is: in order to make insurance companies more competetive why can't we buy health insurance across state lines? This simple question has not yet been answered except one Representative who said if we bought across state lines the consumer couldn't be protected. Really?
So yes, it is an impediment but that is the way it was supposed to work in this country - fifty strong, independent states and a small federal government that took care of exclusively federal matters.
The problem you mention is compounded by liberal states that mandate coverage minimums, such as preganancy or substance abuse rehab.
All of that could be fixed, however, without forming a massive, Draconian federal healthcare system that drives us further toward financial collapse.
YOU, as a consumer, should be able to tailor your health insurance to what you need and purchase it from your provider of choice, but that's not possible as long as some states demand that you be covered for everything under the Sun. Why should a devout Mormon or Muslim be required to pay for coverage for rehab? Why should a young, single woman on birth control and with no plans to bear children be required to pay for pre-natal and obstetrical coverage?
The governors, state legislatures, and state insurance commissions could do more to reduce health insurance costs than anything Obama or that broom-flying Pelosi could ever dream of. Then again, their goal isn't lowering the cost of healthcare, it's the government taking over one-fifth of our economy and making you more and more dependent upon government for your survival.
there you go again using words like "Draconian" when you know the majority of the gubbament-educated folks here have no idea what "Draconian" is let alone know how to pronounce it.

So his anti-choice, anti-health vote was expected.
But it's time to remove the D from after his name - McIntyre represents the insurance companies ($428,000 in contributions, according to the Wash. Post) and the perpetually afraid, Obama-crazed wingnuts who don't have anything better to do than scream at town halls and post endless ignorant rants on newspaper message boards.
Who doesn't he represent? The 23% of his district who are uninsured, nor the majority who lack affordable health care.
Because the majority of the people in NC 7 DO have adequate, affordable healthcare. Between employer-sponsored plans and government funded coverage for the indigent, we generally track the national average.
Sounds like he'll be re-elected.
"Ignorant rants?" Tsk, tsk, tsk....you Socialists are really getting bitter because most of America won't go along with your wealth redistribution plans.

Darn all of you conservative southerns who say that "Obama is the anti christ." You all will just have to accept that there must be compromises for the good of the country. I may have not liked all of what W did, but I never once called him anything even close to anti christ or communist, like I have been hearing about Obama. So just get over it and accept that it is happening!
He's a self-admitted Marxist, which is only one notch beneath the Anti-christ.
I'd take a look at the Senate before you pronounce anything as "happening." Cap-n-tax and healthcare reform are both lacking the votes to pass.
I guess there are just too many Senators from both parties old enough to recall that Marxism simply doesn't work.

Well, I've never heard President Obama say he was a Marxist or even come close. In fact, I'm certain that if this country wasn't rapidly becoming a corpative fascist state that he would be considered a moderate liberal - if not marginally conservative. I can see though how the objectivist propaganda machines could make the weak minded think that, though. By the objectivist definition, Jefferson, Adams, and many of our country's founders would have been considered "bleeding-heart liberals". But then I wouldn't expect you understand this, because you have been mis-educated in the Fascist States of America by the Objectivists.
Do you even understand what Marxism is? Why did Karl Marx feel that the rich (bourgeoisie) were exploiting the poor and middle class (proletariat)? Can you see that Marx was fighting the same hegemony that exists today? Sadly there are always people like you who aren't smart enough to understand that you are fighting for the wrong side, until it's too late. I don't agree that the solution Marx proposed would work, because he didn't consider that even in a Marxist society there would be mean and stupid people to try to gain an unfair advantage and exploit others. However, I do believe his analysis of the problem is spot on.
I suspect you are a self-professed Christian, and you believe in doing what's right. I commend you for that. The problem is that the objectivists (an atheist cult) has taken control of the economy and many other parts of our country; and they are attempting to eviscerate our government using propaganda. What will happen, unless someone stops it, is that America will become a tyranically controlled 3rd-world country. Imagine the US becoming like the worst parts of Africa? The only thing that stands in their way is the government.
Oh, and just so you know, the objectivists tell you that they want "free enterprise", but what they mean is that they want a system with the rules slanted in their favor. That's why the most important piece of the Healthcare bill needs to be a repeal of the McCaran-Ferguson act, which established the anti-trust protection in health insurance.
Wake up and smell the fascism!!!

These toolboxes in congress are playing politics with your health. He stood on the fence refusing to declare whether he would support or reject this bill until Miss Nancy Plastico secured her 218 votes. Then knowing that all her little minions need to face the electorate in 2010 shielded the scared critters like McIntyre and told them it is okay to vote against the bill so they appear like they voted against it back home in there district where, judging by the poll numbers here, the people know better. I particularly like the part of the bill that states I will go to jail and face fines if I don't purchase coverage. This will successfully bring on the 2nd American revolution and we are ready and it is long overdue. All hail the new king: Barack Goldmine Sacks Obama

My weekly e-mails to Mr. McIntyre must have paid off. He knows he is on the political hot seat in his district. Being associated with this radical regime in the Democratic party is a career killer in a fairly conservative district.

Congressman McIntyre absolutely did the right thing by voting against the Health Care Reform Plan. We need less government, not more government. Now, if the congressman will only support HR 25, the FairTax Act.

I feel like companys should offer insurance to there employee and not keep cutting there hours so they can't get insurance. The main office or Central office needs to be looked into because they want to cut teacher and all other staff employees but at the main office. There is people who has retired and been rehired back, they don't understand they don't need the money, because they have a retirement check every month. Columbus County Schools don't do things fair.
