East Bladen vs. Whiteville Gear Up For Game of the Week

Whiteville did not play well in the BB&T High School Football Jamboree earlier this month. Perhaps, the opponent, Hoggard had something to do it. Perhaps it's the "adjustment period " of having a new head coach, Bob Lewis, but Lewis is not new to head coaching in the region. He's as veteran as they come. "I told somebody whenever we scrimmaged Hoggard that was jumping right into the fire to start with...well this opening game is going to be the same thing. East Bladen has a good football team. We're struggling a little bit, but we're going to line up and play em and see what happens." For Whiteville, Friday's game against East Bladen will be their season opener. For East Bladen it's the second game of the season. The Eagles defeated Green Sea Floyd last Friday 47-8. Head Coach Lenon Fisher said: "I think the game was a little closer than the score indicated. They shot themselves in the foot. We didn't. So it kinda got out of hand with the score. The Whiteville - East Bladen game will be our feature game this Friday night on the Fifth Quarter. It will also be the focus of attention on the Coach's Corner Show with John Rendleman & Frank Meehan this coming Sunday morning at 11:30am.
