New Hanover County Schools students displayed exceptional projects at this year’s Southeast Regional Science and Engineering Fair—and fourteen students will be going on to show off their work at the state level.
The state House has unanimously agreed that North Carolina's public school districts should retain much of their flexibility in setting class sizes for early grades this fall after educators have warned that without it, teachers in other subjects could be let go.
Keeping the beat and getting kids ready for the future is what happens in Chris Cook's band classes at North Brunswick High School.
He says 'band teaches you all these life skills." His philosophy is that his students are going to use the skills he's teaching them long after they leave NBHS. "They're going to take these skills," he says "even they don't become music majors or go to school for music."
