RALEIGH (AP) -- The leading Democratic candidates for president are lobbying John Edwards for his support.
But the former North Carolina senator is still silent, not yet willing to say if he'll cast his vote for Hillary Rodham Clinton or Barack Obama.
Edwards has remained largely out of sight since dropping his White House bid two weeks ago. Aides said he's spending most of his time with family and friends at home in Chapel Hill.
But Edwards hasn't disengaged from politics.
Edwards adviser John Moylan said he's spoken on numerous occasions with both Obama and Clinton. Moylan said it's also possible that Edwards will simply wait to endorse the party's
nominee.
Obama leads Clinton by just 55 delegates in a race too close to call. Edwards won 26 delegates before exiting the race, making his endorsement a valuable one.

I think Edwards would have
I think Edwards would have made a great prez. but did not have the finacial backing like the other two. I respect the way he did not use his money to further the campaign.
Big deal
Yea, why use his money when he can use your money. What a great characteristic.
We don't care
johnny red, we don't care who you like, who you want or anything you say. Just shut up and go get a hair cut.
Who really cares...
who John Edwards endorses? John was so far removed from being a factor in the presendential race that his delegate count isn't significant at all.
Given his poor showing during the primaries, if I was Hitlery or 'Bama, I'd say "Thanks John, but NO thanks."
John Edwards
Alot of people care who John Edwards endorses. He is still getting 10-15% of the votes in these states. I won't endorse anyone until I see who he endorses or whoever wins the nomination. Because I believe with all my heart that he was the best candidate for the Presidency.
The Kool-Aid you've
been drinking must have clouded your judgement. John Edwards believes that ONLY the Federal Government can solve your problems. No personal responsibility is needed for bad decisions.
If you think you're taxes are high now, assuming you're employed, wait until someone like Edwards gets elected.
They don't think their taxes are too high
Edwards, Clinton, Obama....it doesn't matter which one you listen to, they never met a tax they didn't love. Their supporters think that higher taxes are a good thing!
Democrat - the party of saps, suckers, Socialists and simpletons.
Democratic Party
And also sponges...
You make a good point
This is from an AP story about the Wisconsin primary.
"Obama defeated her among less educated voters and nearly tied her among white women — two groups that have formed the core of her candidacy."
Looks like an argument can be made that less educated people definitely gravitate toward the Democrats.
The Common Sense Party?
The party that doesn't know how to debate an issue without childish name calling. That's what you have to do when you run out of material to debate with. You may actually may make someone think when you mature.
How about this
Ok, how about the don't fund my living or tax me to death party? I don't expect the government to pay me to sit at home (welfare) or want to be taxed to death due to those that do want to be paid for doing nothing. Go check your mailbox, I'm sure your check arrived today.
There's nothing to debate
All Democrats know how to do is raise taxes on people who manage their lives well, and coddle those who never seem to get the hang of how to plan or run their life. You coddle them. You tell them to blame "the system" for their failures, and not themselves.
...but I'm sure that the nasty tone of your response was due to your depression over your hero, Fidel, retiring...
Re: Definition of Democrat
Republican: those idiots who voted in the other idiot who has gotten our country in the huge mess it's in today.
Hate to rain on your parade, but...
I'm not a Republican. I believe that the Republicans have been fiscally irresponsible for the past four years. George Bush has been grotesquely incompetent in the prosecution of our operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The Republicans, however, are not Socialist cockroaches who expect the successful, responsible members of society to pay for and carry the load of people who are simply too stupid or lazy to lead a productive life.
BTW, what exactly is this "huge mess" you're imagining?
He's holding out....
...waiting to see if Hugo Chavez has figured out a way around that pesky ol' "natural born citizen" clause in the Constitution.
Holding out
That's pretty good....like that train of thought.
Edwards as VP
Maybe Edwards wants to try the Vice President thing again. I'm sure many think Edwards would be a great counter balance To Obama, and the two will sail to victory.
