MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) -- Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards says he will stay in the race, despite his third place finish in the New Hampshire primary last night.
The former North Carolina senator told supporters he will stay in the race until the Democratic National Convention.
Edwards got 17 percent of the vote in New Hampshire, far behind Hillary Clinton's 39 percent and Barack Obama's 37 percent.
He says he will stick to his campaign to fight special interest corruption in Washington. Edwards says he wants to restore the American dream and strengthen and restore the middle class in America.
Edwards finished second in Iowa's Democratic caucuses last week.
The vice presidential nominee in 2004 offered congratulations to Clinton and Obama, but said he will be the presidential nominee.
