There will be at least two new members of the New Hanover County Commission this fall, and there are plenty of people interested in the jobs. Earlier this year Commissioner Tom Wolfe, a Republican, said he would not run to keep his seat. Libertarian Brian Berger, the other incumbent whose term is up, did not file for reelection. It was no secret Brunswick County Resident Superior Court Judge Ola Lewis planned to run for North Carolina Supreme Court this year. She made that announcement last summer. What was not widely known was her intention to run for Chief Justice. Full story...

Former New Hanover County Manager Bruce Shell says he will run for a seat on the New Hanover County School Board. "I'm retired now.
