Familiar face returns to WPD

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- At today's HOPE Academy graduation, we saw a familiar face from the Wilmington Police Department.

Linda Rawley, who worked with the department for more than 16 years, left in 2006 to pursue personal career interests. She's back as WPD's community resource coordinator for the Gang Resistance Team.

Rawley says she's just thankful she can serve the people she cares about once again.

"The residents here have welcomed me," Rawley said. "I'm excited to bring that link back together and certainly finding as many positive resources out there that are there for this community."

Rawley was the guiding force behind the HOPE Academy.

Seriously?

Obviously, no one cares about your crass opinions, because the two of you are the only ones on the band wagon. You're probably the same person. Linda was not a part of a cleaning house at UNCW, speak the facts instead of your stupid "guestimations".

You would only be happy if your old employer would seek you out to give you your previous job or better. You're probably just some unemployed trailer trash sitting around angry because a minority got your job due to affirative action. LOL LOL!

She was worthless then and if she was worth anything now she would have stayed at UNCW. They cleaned house there for a reason. WAHT A WASTE OF MONEY

She left once and now back. I bet she is making more now than she did as a WPD Lieutenant. Story stated the people supported her, what people, minorities. This just another waste of taxpayer money. Pretty much the same as a community organizer. She is not going to change crime stats. Her job is actually to do what? She is going to speak to minority groups and get them to quit causing so much crime. Really Chief, who you trying to fool. Not this voting citizen who does not support jobs like this one which are a waste of resources.
