Family of slain jogger gets custody of children

CARY -- The family of a Cary woman found slain at a construction site now has custody of her two young daughters, after filing an emergency petition to take the children from her husband. The father and sister of Nancy Cooper argued that Bradley Cooper was having an affair, is emotionally unstable and posed a danger to the children. A judge granted the request Wednesday. Authorities have not named Bradley Cooper a suspect and had no updates Thursday on their investigation. Cooper's attorneys have said he is devastated by his wife's death and will continue to assist police as they investigate. Nancy Cooper was found Monday less than 3 miles from her home. Bradley Cooper has told police his 34-year-old wife went jogging Saturday morning and never returned. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press. All Rights Reserved.)
