Freeman Elementary students had the chance to spend time with their family at school Tuesday night. It was Family Reading Night at the Wilmington magnet school. Teachers read to the families then the students worked on activities related to the books. Teachers hope the event taught parents some reading strategies to use at home. The kids seemed to enjoy every minute of it. Second grader, Dyque Carmicheal, said "It's about reading and activities and having fun after school, and stuff like that. We're about to go to the computer lab to read and have fun." Freeman also hosted a pizza party and holiday concert.
