Fatal shooting in downtown Wilmington

I just want to say first of all, thank you to everyone who sent prayers and love to our family in the loss of our love one!!! It really means a lot to us to know that he was so greatly loved and still loved by all. This is what makes it so hard for us...knowing he didn't bother a sole and he was truly a good person. Second, I'd like to say to those of you who know what happened...keeping silent is not only hurting us, but any other family out there that may go through what we are going through...which doesn't have to happen. We have to take our families, homes, streets and neighborhoods back!!!! This means taking one thug at a time off the streets. Third, I would like to say that we will never stop looking for Cinque's murderers!!! We won't rest until the rightful people are behind bars and paying for what they have done! We can't bring him back, but we can make sure justice is served not just for him, but for all the families that have suffered needlessly.

I didn't know Emmit, but it doesn't make it any less sad. Especially, as it's been said, since there was just not reason for this to happen. I've lived in Wilmington for a good number of years, and through the years I've had the misfortune to see the streets become overrun with gangs. I don't know why, maybe kids just feel like they have no one else to look out for them. The unfortunate part of it is that no one is willing to give up names or information about gang members out of fear. But it's this FEAR that the gangs thrive on and continue to kill for. So until the community is willing to come together, take that risk, and call out the gang members, I am afraid this won't be the last sensless act of violence.

I live In NY and I grew up with CQ when I was living down in wilimington. To ease my pain I've been written my heart out. Eventhough CQ lived in Nc his spirt touch so many people included myself. CQ is related to my cuz and as kids He always called me His cuz " we where Fam" I'm hundreds of miles away. Pain has no distant and boundaries. It's hard when u grew up with someone as a child and they're taken away from u in a millisecond. It makes u think we really aren't guaranteed tomorrow or the day after. This really makes me want to embrace my family & even my extended family members more. All I can think of is us growing up together as kids riding our Bikes all over town, just joking with one another are memories that constantly pass through my mind. Hearing of Cinque death really hit me hard. I cried for a long time when I got that late night call of his passing. One of those deep cries from the heart that drains ur body. And that's rare for me to do, not because of his passing, but the way they did him. It hurts that some spinless Pigs took away one of Gods Great creations. Either way you put it in the long run Those spinless pigs will be caught either way you put it. Cinque I will never forget your comforting laugh You're laid back demeanor, Your sense of humor You're energy was always uplifting And most of the compassion you had for other people. You will always have my respect & love always Love you cuz Hundreds of miles away still won't ease the pain :(

I'm so sorry to the family for your loss. CQ was a very nice and humble person. He was always the same and never changed on you.I love him just as well as a family member. My heart goes out to his family,Eb, and Jada. I don't have many words to say because I am grieving for me and my boyfriend, which was his first cousin. I LOVE ALL OF YALL AND MAY GOD BLESS ALL OF U!! YOU WILL BE MISSED CQ!!!

It is becoming the truth. The good do die young. Why for the second time has one of the nicest, best personality, laid back persons in our family have to be brutally taken away from us. First Carl Clark and now Emmit. This is just not right. I just want to send a prayer out for my familys' hearts and minds to be at ease one day. Keep your head up Eb I know that it will be very hard for a while, but you have a very loving family beside you. It's going to be hard for us all, but as long as we stick together and comfort each other like always, we will make it through this hardship one day.

Why that's what is on my mind, why. CQ was one of the most polite and kind youngmanI've ever known. Not violent, not angry, not evil. You whoever did this are going to pay!!!!! To the family, my deepest simpathy and love. The northside is in morning forreal. Brothers and sisters of the northside come together to celebrate another homecoming. He's back with his mother now. THIS IS RIDICULOUS! THEY SAY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG, BUT I DONT SEE HOW ANYONE CAN KILL A MAN WHO IS GOOD! HE IS NOT ONLY A FRIEND, BUT ALSO A FATHER AND A SON. I just want to say that this happens far tooooo much and I am tired of it. This was a good man actually he is my cousin and I love him dearly whoever did this to him I hope you pay and not they same way you did it to him I hope you suffer the rest of your life for this. I want my cousin CQ to haunt you in your sleep for the rest of your life. I am hurt and angry b/c this was senseless and did not have to happen.For my family I am praying for all of you. EB.
