Father-son duo arrested in drug trafficking charges

The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office has arrested a father-son duo, after seizing more than a quarter million dollars in cocaine and cash Thursday. Luis Hernandez of Leland has been charged with four counts of trafficking cocaine, among other drug related charges. He is in the New Hanover County Jail under a $1.5 million bond. His 19-year-old son Oscar has also been charged with trafficking cocaine. He is being held under a $100,000 bond. The New Hanover County Sheriff's Office worked with Brunswick County and Duplin County's sheriff's office to make the arrests.

Drug Bust

Great Job that the drugs are off the street, however it is a shame that a young man's life has been altered by a dad he wanted to know so badly as a child. Oscar was a Great soccer player and had a bright future a head of him. This young man always had a smile and a kind word for everyone and never got into trouble in school. This just shows how much a child needs a good father even if he does not live in the house with the family. And yes as for Oscar he was an American to the commment  before. Oscar was in need for a good father, his mother is a fine woman who did everything she could to give her son all she could. But when you have someone who flashes money like that in a teens face what would your child do? Maybe instead of judging why not start praying for men too step up and start being the Dads they need to be instead of using their on children to drag them down. Our Prayers are with them both. But our hearts go out to Oscar.

...is exactly why my family loves living in the South. Morals, respect, GOD and family all abound in this great State, not to mention respect for the law. Isn't everyone just so tired of hearing the non-stop "drugs should be legal cause I am a drug addict" responses to these reports? If you love drugs LEAVE NORTH CAROLINA and go live in the cesspools that drug economies like California have created. People who smoke marijuana are stupid. We don't don't need a lower class of idiots who love their illegal drugs living in N.C. That includes cocaine and every other life-wasting substance alcohol included. Ya'll keep bringing your drugs here because the prices are so high, because the MAJORITY hate you and despise substance abuse. Maybe one day the users and dealers will wake up and realize there is just as much fun in real life activities and money in real work than you could ever want. Grow up and get a job like everyone else.
