BURGAW, NC (WWAY) -- The federal stimulus plan will help keep Burgaw police officers on the road. The Burgaw Police Department will receive $59,000 from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
It includes a grant of more than $38,000 and a loan for more than $20,000 to buy two new Dodge Chargers. The cars will replace two older vehicles that have racked up maintenance costs.

Note
a little over 1/3 of the funds are in the form of a loan. That means it has to be paid back. I wonder if it's interest free like the car manufacturers are offering now?
I still don't see how this stimulates the economy or creates long term jobs.
