Federal tax incentive ends April 30

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A federal tax incentive to motivate people buy new homes ends in a few days.

Wilmington's economy the past few years has been rooted in homes and home construction. The tax credit incentive ends on April 30th. Mortgage lenders and the Wilmington and Cape Fear Home Builders Association say business is very busy as they near crunch time.

This weekend, the Home Builders Association is having its 24th annual Parade of Home to help push those last-minute home buyers looking to use the incentive.

how contracts written during May look when the incentives are not present. That's a time when families are starting to consider employment related relocation.

Check back in June.

I will be SO happy when the home buyer tax credit ends!!! Finally house prices might fall to reality!
