WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- From tasty tortillas to salsa dancing the 12th annual Festival Latino in Hugh MacRae Park welcomed thousands Saturday. Sponsored by the non-profit Amigos International, the festival helped bring together people of all cultures and backgrounds. Cape Fear residents were treated to authentic Latino food, dance, and hand-made merchandise. Countries including Brazil, Mexico, Panama, Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Colombia were represented at the festival.
Diego Hernandez, a native of southern Mexico and festival vendor said it’s an educational experience “I think the people learn more what we can do you know over in Mexico.”
Festival organizers estimate an attendance of more than 20,000 making it the biggest turnout yet.
