Dear Brian,
By running for office you are applying for a job, County Commissioner, a paid position in New Hanover County.

Please post your resume on your web site for everyone to read, we need to see: employment history, qualifications and check your references before we hire you.

Signed, your possible future employer, A Taxpayer.

that this trend continues past November. I have had to sit by, in a nearby county, and watch the voters of my beloved hometown screw it up over and over again. Caster needs to be only the beginning for things to get better in Wilmington and New Hanover County.

Welcome to the next round Brian. Are you going to answer questions this round or dodge them like you've done in the last two debates with a prepared scripts full of talking point and baseless claims? (and yes I was was there)
You beat an incumbent (not hard in this day and age) now you're facing all new candidates for two seats. How are you going to make the same claims this round of old boys and corruption? Or does this round actually include substitutive solutions?

***Spoiler alert**** not a Caster supporter, not a poor sport, not a whiner... This is not an ATTACK... just a taxpayer, a voter and most importantly a real life-long Republican who wants answers, not radio speak and talking points!!!!

This whole runoff was a waste of tax dollars in order to decide who gets to lose to the two viable candidates.

We will be digging more into Berger's past. The public needs to no more about this little Green Martian.

Congrats on win--and on being true to your principles---you showed a lot of class under intense pressure from the caster personal attacks. A lot of us will be with you again in November- you would be a welcome change from the status quo.

I can't help but note sad commentary of caster supporter below---personal attack on winner with their usual lies and distortions--maybe we should tell him--run off is over and the voters preferred a gutsy young man Brian Berger.
November will be about issues and the voters will be able to choose among four people-I'm going to stick with Berger-I like his stand on issues and Many of us respect his courage in taking on Caster and his mean machine.

Berger, the weird guy who looks and acts as if he has Down Syndrome, with a questionable past, has pushed out a good man and public servant. Caster, a retired Coast Guard Captain and successfull owner of several businesses and who then went on to serve the public 18+ years was defeated by lying rhetoric. Sad! There is hope, maybe these naive idiot Berger suppoerters will wake up before the main election.

From everything that I have read and seen Caster was pushed out by the voters, not Berger. It could be the people are tired of solving every problem by raising taxes so our so called leaders spend more money.

The people, by a large majority, decided how they felt about Caster and did something about it. Caster is a lying idiot. I hope more of "his kind" are given the boot in the coming days ahead. The experience you speak of we will be better without. His "type" is what is wrong with this country today and your whining is a sad testament to the blind sheep that follows the career politician and the bs they pander to the flock.

You should have your arse kicked over that comment about him "acting as if he has downs syndrome !" There is nothing wrong with having downs syndrome ! It must be really bad to be you.

He made voters think and remember him in his radio ad when he said, "You know me, and you trust me."

That made all of us realize, "Gee Bill, we DO know you but we DON'T trust you."

How, pray tell, did Brian Berger "push out" anybody? Mr. Berger ran for election, then subsequently within the law called for a runoff election and won this election SOLIDLY.

Your puerile assault does not serve to compliment Mr. Caster nor his work during his tenure in office.

We've had the last eighteen years to judge what he is now. Every development was rubber stamped regardless of how crowded the area and roads were already, taxes kept on soaring, that Satanic CFPUA was created, and the week before the election he was caught blatantly lying to the press.

You need to face up to the fact that Caster engineered his own defeat.

Enough of the name calling, over the past few years Caster has always voted to raise taxes. He even did it on Monday before the election. The people of the county had enough. Lying ??? were you at any of the debates.. Caster lied over and over again..

The people of the county had enough and went to the polls to show it..

Good luck Brian in Novemeber you have my vote.

Straight Shooter, you should sign your name as Sore Loser. What a stupid commentary. Calling a person seeming to have Downs Syndrome is a reflection of your ignorance.
Voting for a monkey would have beem better than voting for Caster. That little man is where he deserves to be... retired. He has listened to the cronies in Wilmington for long enough. This Caster has ben a destructive czar for long enough.
Be ashamed of yourself for making fun of Downs Syndrome...maybe you ought to have a checkup...you may have something close to it.

Hey "78zwe"...

Great statement to "sore loser". My two cents about this clown is that he has no sense of shame and can't deal with the rage he is feeling at the defeat of the mud slinging master.

I COMMEND BRIAN BERGER FOR BEING CONSISTENT ON HIS VIEWS AND HAVING THE GUTS TO TAKE ON THE STATUS QUO- A LOT OF US TALKED ABOUT IT-BERGER TOOK A RISK AND TOOK A LOT OF SHOTS-BUT HIS HARD WORK, STAND ON ISSUES AND HIS COURAGE ARE WORTHY OF OUR RESPECT. HE HAS EARNED MY VOTE IN NOVEMBER- IF HE LEARNED FROM THIS EXPERIENCE HE WILL BE BETTER FOR IT-AND IF HE IS ELECTED SO WILL WE HERE IN THE COUNTY.CONGRATS BRIAN-YOU DID IT THE OLD FASHIONED WAY WITH HARD WORK AND THE TRUTH.

Thank goodness voters looked at issues and not the mailers and crappy ads that Caster ran. As the comment indicates Berger was consistent on issues and had the courage to stand up to caster--who said and as we now see-played by his own rules--ethical or legal being real issues. Congrats to Brian----put your ideas out there and let people decide in November.
Maybe it is expecting too much to ask Bill Caster to show some class and humility in defeat.

Last night I seen Caster on the news and he made a comment regarding a negative campaign, really? wasn't he at the same debate I was at? (Senior Center). What about the comments his wife made ?? Also the people in Wilmington are tired of being TAXED to death. Caster just voted on another one on Monday night. Does he still have to ask WHY ??? and he sits on the board for CFPUA too. and all the increases they just got.
THe people of Wilmington are finally speaking out... ENOUGH IS ENOUGH !!!!!

Last night - the voters of New Hanover County delivered a solid referendum on where they want their county to go. This was not a fluke - this was a 2:1 victory with 3 times the turnout originally predicted.

Congratulations Brian - good luck in November.

Let's all hope and pray that the ex-sheriff doesn't make it. We don't need some old politics! He is still part of the "Good Ole Boy" crew. You know "I'll scratch your back as long as you scratch mine". How do you think he got where he did? As long as he can play golf and try to control the way things are around here he will be happy. Please, Please don't do it! We are on a roll against bad government why would the people vote for more?

Now Caster can join the senior center and play shuffle board or bridge. He already knows how to shuffle.

It's about d**n time that liar Bill CAster got removed. Two down and one to go, Finally!!!!

Grinning Bill Saffo and loudmouth Jason Thompson. Your days of glory are over boys.
We, the voters are sick of you.

I hope this has made the citizens of Wilmington wake up and realize we don't need Saffo or Thompson in any form of government. Especially not hot air Thompson.

We the people of this county should demand our D.A. press charges against this career criminal bill caster.how does it feel to be one of the little people now billy boy.

I am shocked.....but very happy!!!!! Congrats, Brian!!!!

Finally! I admit, I helped put Caster in and kept him in office for many years - not this time! I am ready for change! Show us some fiscal responsibility!! We are counting on you!!

It about time that Bill Caster has been removed from his office. To many years.Wonder where he is going to make his kick back money from now.
