WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A federal judge has sentenced a Wilmington man who admitted trying to rip off Medicare and Medicaid.
Roy Creasy received three years probation and three years home detention with electronic monitoring. He'll also have to pay a 40-thousand-dollar fine and a million dollars in restitution.
Prosecutors say Creasy and his daughter Tamala Creasy Newton used several medical practices they owned to submit fake bills. They pleaded guilty to several charges earlier this year.
Newton's sentencing is set for next week.

I wish I could lie like this
by this I mean...the articles I have read say he didn't know b/c he wasn't there....yeah right. There everyday while house staff cared for his wife. That's all I am saying...
Records
I used to go here and am still wondering were my medical records are since nobody could ever give me a formal explanation.... Isn't it a Hippa violation for my records to be floating around somewhere??? Anyone else that went here find theirs?
HEY..
the government STEALS from the people every day....but it's OK when they do it...
This man got off light.
This man got off light. Ladies and gentlemen in an era of government spending way out of control and more people than you know of ripping the American taxpayer, this guy stole more than can ever be recovered or traced. He owns property around Wilmington and all of that should be seized. This is a simple case of stealing. I betcha one thing, let someone OWE $1 million in back taxes and see if they don;t go to jail. Every person in this area should be enraged, especially if you allowed him to treat you or your family.
