Five suspects were arrested in Loris, South Carolina in what began as an investigation of a Hispanic based trafficking operation in southern Brunswick county. Agents soon learned the organizations was based in South Carolina as the scope widened and other agencies were brought in. "This case is a very good example of what cooperation between agencies can yield," said Brunswick county sheriff, John Ingram. "We were able to bring down a group that we believe was supplying large amounts of cocaine not only to Horry county but to Brunswick county as well." Agents seized more than $180,000 in cash, a stock pile of guns and ammunition, and more than two kilograms of cocaine.
