Five arrests made in local waters

Numbers are in from this past weekend's Operation Dry Water, a crackdown on boating and drinking. The state Wildlife Resources Commission and other agencies stepped up patrols, targeting people driving boats while under the influence. Five people were arrested in New Hanover and Pender counties and a total of forty-three state wide. Officers also nabbed three drunk drivers, who became intoxicated while on the water, and tried to leave the dock by car.
