Flag flies again at Winnabow Volunteer Fire Department

Old Glory is proudly flying once again outside the Winnabow Volunteer Fire Department. The North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce presented the fire department with a brand new flag and flag pole Tuesday night. A storm damaged the department's previous flag and pole, and there's no room in its budget to buy new ones. The chamber of commerce donated the new additions. "It means a lot to the department and I think it means a lot to the community,” said Stan McElroy of the Winnabow Volunteer Fire Department. “The Wilmington area, obviously with the military background nearby, it just shows the patriotism." Terry Grillo of North Brunswick Chamber of Commerce said, "We try to do whatever we can within our community and we just felt that this was something that would be a good thing for us to be able to do." The North Brunswick High School Junior ROTC Color Guard raised the flag at Tuesday night's ceremony.

WHAT DO THEY DO WITH THE FIRE FEE TAX THAT IS PAID BY EVERONE IN THERE DISTRICT
I can not believe someone would be so inconsiderate. First of all, every US citizen should be proud to see organizations supporting thier country with a United States flag. Secondly, how many times have there been accidents, brush fires, or structure fires in which VOLUNTEERS have risked their life to save another? It could be your home. Your life. Your children's life. Get real and grow up. Your comments are not even worth the time it took you to type them. If you're that naive about fire taxes, research them online, visit the fire department, and become knowledgable. It seems as if it would do you a lot of good. Have a great week and happy learning!
Probably use it to buy equipment for fighting fires. Most rural fire departments don't get a lot of money and what little they do get goes to keeping the trucks running and gassed up and buying equipment to help protect the lives of the volunteers and protect your property.
In about 11 months you will see where the fire fee is going
What does that mean? What is it we will be finding out in 11 months?
A NEW RESCUE ENGINE WILL BE IN SERVICE
Maybe you should stop in when one of the Volunteers is there and they will explain where your Tax dollars are going. Or are you that person that will never ever need that Volunteers help.
