SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -- Authorities say a New York man facing grand larceny charges in the Syracuse area has committed suicide while fleeing police in North Carolina.
Authorities in North Carolina say 29-year-old Nathan Catanzaro shot and killed himself early Sunday morning after allegedly trying to rob two women in Wilmington.
Catanzaro pleaded guilty earlier this month to a grand larceny charge but hadn't been sentenced yet.
Prosecutors in Onondaga County, New York, say he owed more than a dozen people in the Syracuse area $46,000 for shoddy work contracted through his business in Clay.
Catanzaro is survived by his pregnant wife and their five children.
