Fort Bragg environmental award is an Army first

READ MORE:
FORT BRAGG -- Fort Bragg officials have received the first Army award for environmental sustainability at a post where vast acreage is used for combat training. The Fayetteville Observer reported Monday the post received the Secretary of the Army Sustainability Award last week. The award recognizes protection of environmental resources. Army official Tad Davis said the award recognizes Fort Bragg's work to preserve air and water quality for the next 25 years. Since 2002, the post has cut its water use by nearly 45 percent and has stepped up recycling debris from torn down buildings.
