Fort Bragg soldiers to return from deployment

FORT BRAGG -- More than 70 artillerymen from Fort Bragg's 27th Field Artillery Regiment will return after six months in Afghanistan. The paratroopers are expected to return Wednesday afternoon. The unit provided rocket and missile support with its High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, or HIMARS. The HIMARS carries a single six-pack of rockets, or one missile. The launcher can rapidly deploy and because it is smaller than the Army's other launchers, it can be deployed into previously inaccessible areas. (Copyright 2008 by The Associated Press.
