Fur Ball benefits area animal shelters

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Dust off that tux or little black dress to help kick your holiday season off in style. You can spend a night on the town to provide many nights of safety for homeless dogs and cats.

The Fifth Annual Wilmington Fur Ball is almost here. The Fur Ball is a black tie, red carpet event. It raises money for no-kill animal shelters in our area.

Proceeds from past years have helped the shelters tremendously.

"With the Pender County Humane Society, we've built a brand new shelter in Burgaw last year, and the first year proceeds went into the building of the shelter, so it really helped us get out building built," said orgainzer Norma Troutman.

The Fur Ball is Saturday, December 4 at the Hilton Wilmington Riverside. For ticket information and discounts, visit http://wilmingtonfurball.com.
