If you've bought a new GE microwave between January 2000 and December 2003 it may pose a fire hazard in your kitchen. General Electric is recalling 92,000 units of their built-in combination wall and microwave ovens. That applies to GE, GE Profile and Kenmore brands. GE says the door switch can overheat and ignite. There have been 35 reports of minor property damage, but no injuries. If you think you might have one of the recalled microwaves, you can go on the GE web site or call the consumer hotline at 888-240-2745.
