WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- A Wilmington-based company is getting a boost from a power company's efforts to go green. Global Nuclear Fuel will provide critical components and engineering to an Xcel Energy nuclear plant in Minnesota.
GNF says it's making more efficient fuel technology to help operators achieve their energy and emissions reduction goals. The company says the contract with Xcel is worth $12 million. The deal still needs approval from the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
