WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- The New Hanover County Republican Party wants an open hearing on problems voters had last week on Election Day.
County GOP chair Alex Dale sent a letter yesterday to the New Hanover County Board of Eelections asking for the hearing to discuss voting irregularities and issues. Among the issues Dale outlined: wrong ballots, precinct staff not knowing what to do and equipment problems.
Dale says it's not a partisan issue. He said the problems impact all voters.

No Excuse for Voting Irregularities
Starting the first hour of the 13 day early voting period, all three early voting locations experienced major problems. I would call selecting a certain candidate, but then having the chosen candidate's opponent receive the vote, a major problem. Pulling a straight Republican ticket, but the votes registering all Democrat, also not acceptable. Two hour wait times during early voting (due to touch screen machines as the only option to vote) shows poor planning.
Election day was the twilight zone at certain precincts. Wrong ballots, malfuctioning machines that would not take the wrong ballot, unsecured ballots leaving the precincts at closing, and other irregularities. Those in charge appeared unable to diagnosis the problems, much less correct them.
We can do better.

If there is any question about the voting, then we need a recount or re-do.How do we the people trust the results or even believe they are correct.
