Gore urges action on climate change during Nobel ceremony

OSLO, Norway (AP) -- Al Gore told the audience at the Nobel Peace Prize ceremony that it's "time to make peace with the planet." Gore accepted the award in Oslo, Norway, along with the head of the U.N.'s climate agency. Gore urged America and China to take the boldest steps on emissions. Gore said earlier that it's not too late for the Bush administration to help draft a new treaty to limit greenhouse gas emissions. He told The Associated Press that he thinks the next president will shift American policy on climate change.

I thought people won the nobel peace prize for doing something that benefited society/the world? All Al Gore did was make a movie that is slightly biased and raise awareness. If only people like him would ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING with their time to fix the problem instead of complain about it then maybe, just maybe that would be deserving of the prize. I just don't get it. And by the way, someone who is so worried about carbon emissions sure didn't seem to mind when he was VP having numerous SUBURBANS ride behind him while on his morning jog.
