PITTSBORO, NC (AP) -- Gov. Bev Perdue says her administration is trying to prevent bureaucracy from trumping common sense by restricting new rules issued by North Carolina government agencies.
Perdue announced Thursday in Pittsboro she's ordering her Cabinet secretaries to avoid creating new rules unless they're absolutely necessary or protect the health and safety of citizens.
She can't force Council of State members and their departments to follow the order but asked that they do so. Perdue laid out a plan to allow for some new rules when they're approved by her state budget office.
Perdue also said citizens, local governments and business should contact her office to point out rules that need to be reformed or eliminated.

Plain Stupid
You Titan haters are like Limbaugh states, a bunch of enviromental wackos. As long as they meet current EPA Regulations and the Army Corp of Engineers approve their permit they should be allowed to operate. Most of you Titan Haters live nearby the proposed site and in reality just do not want any manufacturing located near you. If Titan was setting up in Duplin County you would say nothing. You could care less about the tax revenue and jobs because you already are either retired or have a job. Tell that to families whom were they able to get employed with Titan would be able to take care of their families and become the working. You elitist make me sick.
STOP TITAN NOW-PERDUE IS A PHONY
WE NEED TO UNDERSTNAD THAT SOME OF THIS CRAP THAT PERDUE IS SPOUTING WILL UNDERCUT ENVIRONMENTAL REGULATIONS-- WE NEED TO REALIZE THIS COULD IMPACT US IN OUR EFFORTS TO STOP TITAN- A DISASTER WAITING TO HAPPEN FOR OUR COUNTY- WE DONT NEED IT -WE DONT WANT IT- BUT TITAN IS GOOD FOR THE GOOD OLE BOYS WHO WANT THEIR CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS.
WE NEED JOBS--GOOD ONES AND MORE OF THEM---BUT THIS IS NOT A GOOD TRADE OFF
