WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- If you love the Tony Award-winning musical "Hairspray," starting this weekend you'll have plenty of opportunities to catch it. "Hairspray" is hitting the stage at the Historic Hannah Block USO building.
Director and choreographer Kevin Green and a few cast members stopped by our studios this morning to give us a little taste of what will be on stage.
Green said he chose this play because of the message it has.
"It has a nice message that they cover in a light-hearted way about racism and segregation of the 1960s," he said.
"Hairspray" runs for the next three weekends on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are $15 and $18. You can get them at the Hannah Block USO at 2nd and Orange Streets in Downtown Wilmington, or call (910) 841-9860.
