READ MORE:

After many long trips to Surf City and Wrightsville Beach just to put their boat in the water, residents in the Hampstead area now have a boat ramp of their own. Pender County is in the process of purchasing this boat ramp off Lewis Road for about $4 million. It's six acres, and includes a boat ramp, waterfront benches, and parking. County commissioners hope to close on the acquisition in February.

Boat ramp

That is fantastic - glad to hear that Hampstead will finally have it's own ramp!

Can't wait

I can't wait to see some drunk take out the "house" while trying to back his trailer down.

with

2 existing boat ramps off Highway 53 and 1 off Highway 210, how can the County Commissioners in their right minds approve this type of outlay in our current economic situation? Remember this when voting.

4 MILLION DOLLARS FOR A 1

4 MILLION DOLLARS FOR A 1 LANE BOAT RAMP? DO YOU THINK THE PEOPLE PUTTING THEIR BOAT IN THE WATER CARE ABOUT THE BEACHES OVER THERE? WHO ARE THE LUCKY SELLERS OF THIS PROPERTY AND HOW ARE THEY RELATED TO PENDER COUNTY EXECS???
