High School Musical fans are in for a treat this weekend. Thanks in part to a grant from the Brunswick Arts Council, High School Musical is coming to Odell Williamson Auditorium. Students from rival Brunswick County schools are teaming up. "We all have a common background because we're from the same county, so we all have the same story and everything so when we put it together and all the talents put together, we all just kind of mesh well together,” said Torian Parker. "I maybe knew three people, four people, from the other schools, and everybody else, I had no clue who they were but now I know everybody and we're just a big family now,” said Amy Sapp. The actors say this is the first time High School Musical will be performed in Brunswick County. Jesse Mayo especially fits the part, with a resemblance to actor Zac Efron, who plays Troy Bolton in the movie. "During the auditions I came and I had to leave early to go to soccer; and then when I went to soccer practice, I didn't tell everybody where I was and it was kind of like how it is in the play,” Mayo said. The performance is Friday and Saturday at 7:30 and Saturday and Sunday at 3:00. Tickets are $10 for kids 12-and-under, and $15 for everyone else. For ticket information, call 755-7416.
