READ MORE: Hoggard, New Hanover athletes sign letters of intent
WILMINGTON -- It was a proud day for the players, the players' families and their coaches and teammates. These New Hanover players are not signing their life away, but they are making a big commitment for the next four years. Lineman C.J. Brown put his John Hancock on paper to play at East Carolina, and Lineman Nick Becton will suit up for the Hokies of Virginia Tech. Christian Ludtke also made a written commitment today to play soccer at Northwestern. At Hoggard wide receiver Luke Caldwell signed a national letter of intent to play for the Citadel. Jonathan Cooper last week decided to play at North Carolina. As of today it's official, and he's got high hopes in Chapel Hill. Three more Hoggard players signed on the dotted line today. Whit Beavers and Ian Shankland will play football at Catawba College in Salisbury. Chris Carter is headed to Buies Creek to suit up for Campbell. Hoggard kicker Casey Barth made a verbal commitment to North Carolina. He'll be a walk-on and Scottie Braswell verbally committed to catholic university. Meanwhile James Robey signed with the citadel this morning at South Brunswick High School.
