Many travelers will be flying to their holiday destination. Things were running smoothly at ILM Friday, thanks to cooperative weather. The airlines expect Friday and Memorial Day to be the busiest travel days. ILM Director of Operations Gary Broughton said heavy travel will continue during the weekend, but there are still seats available on those weekend flights. While the airport is busy, its still business as usual. "This is not the size or the holiday travel that we normally get say on Thanksgiving, but it is fairly heavy traffic," Broughton said. Broughton added that the busy holiday travel is expected to continue through Wednesday.
