Fire safety was not the only lesson some local firefighters wanted to teach Wednesday. Students at Holly Tree Elementary in Wilmington had a chance to stop, drop, and roll and put their fire safety skills to the test.

In observance of Fire Prevention Month, firefighters from Wilmington's Fire Department used their mobile safety unit to simulate a fire emergency. Each student walked away with a lesson they are sure to remember.

Emily Steyskal, a second grader at Holly Tree said, "I learned about when smoke is coming you only stay on the ground, you stay low. If you're on fire stop, drop, and roll."

Each student walked away with tips on how to prevent a fire emergency from happening.
