Hospice patients in Brunswick County will soon have a facility of their own.
Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center received permission from the state to build a seven bed facility in Brunswick County.
They already offer at-home care, but the terminally ill who have been traveling to locations in Wilmington and Whiteville will now be able to stay close to home.
The non-profit organization needs to raise $3.5 million to build the facility. Officials hope it will be near the New Brunswick Novant Medical Hospital.
