NEW YORK (AP) -- Cory Stillman scored twice and Cam Ward posted his second shutout of the season as Carolina whipped the New York Rangers, 4-0.
Matt Cullen set up first-period goals by Scott Walker and Stillman to put the Hurricanes ahead 2-0. The Hurricanes doubled the lead when David Tanabe and Stillman tallied 2:26
apart midway through the final period.
Cullen was back at Madison Square Garden for the first time since the Rangers traded him back to Carolina this summer.
Ward made 10 of his 28 saves in the final period to preserve his fourth career shutout
The Hurricanes had dropped four of their previous six, including Saturday's 8-1 pounding by Buffalo.
