ILM to get a new loading bridge

Wilmington International Airport is getting an upgrade. Congress has just granted ILM more than $600,000 for a new jet passenger loading bridge. The jet bridge will be at Wilmington International Airport in about 10 months. This bridge will be ILM's fourth jet loading bridge. Airport officials say this addition will improve customer service. “Of course that's better for our customers because they are actually able to load the aircraft through the jet bridge without going outside in the elements,” said Julie Wilsey, ILM Deputy Airport Director. Wilsey said the new jet bridge and improved customer service could help entice other air carriers to operate in and out of ILM.
