The airport is officially the “fair port”. The Cape Fear Fair and Expo is officially open for business. Fun-lovers from all across the area are flocking to the fair grounds at the Wilmington International Airport. Fair food is always a favorite, but of course there are the dare devil rides, and the kiddie cars. There is something for everyone. “Well we wanted to come out, spend some time with our little girl, show her all the rides and have some good time with the family,” said Leland’s Abbie Bullard. This year, you may see more hand washing stations to prevent the spread of swine flu. The fair runs through November 7th. A portion of the proceeds go to several charities and other causes in the area.

Ugh!

I enjoyed the fair on Saturday, but was very disturbed by the lack of hand sanitizer. There was none to be found at the concessions! With the wide-spread threat of the swine flu, I couldn't believe there was no hand sanitizer for people to use before they ate. The one dispenser I did locate was EMPTY. The only available sanitizer was located outside the port o johns. :(

Hand sanitizer

If you were that worried about "swine flue," you should have brought some pocket hand sanitizer. It's a fair, not a hospital.

WHAT?????? hand sanitizer?

hand sanitizer? It was a fair, not a hospital. I cant believe you would even take the time to type that...Its called PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY and you should have it. Bring your own hand sanitizer to the fair and everywhere else you go. UGH...I hope you didnt vote, although Im sure you did by the results we had. Did you want ventilator masks as well? Gloves? Boots? Penicillin?
