It is crunch time for last minute shoppers

READ MORE: It is crunch time for last minute shoppers
Shoppers hits the streets of Mayfaire and downtown Wilmington hoping to cross the last few gifts off their list. "Oh, I waited for the last minute deals definitely. I did most of my shopping last Friday. I waited for the last minute and got some great deals," said Kristin Miguez. The procrastinators were not just women. Crescent Moon owner Joan Lach said, "This week we're seeing a lot of men coming in to do their last minute shopping for the ladies." And Christmas gifts were not the only thing they were shopping for. Last minute shopper John Casey said, "The day before Christmas Eve, I'm actually shopping for my wife's birthday present which is the day after Christmas. I'm in a little bit of a rush. Her Christmas gifts have been bought already, but now I need a birthday present." Some business owners realize there are people who are shopping right down to the wire, so they are being flexible with their hours. In addition to extended and flexible hours, many businesses are offering gift wrapping services - some free of charge. Hopefully that will limit some pre-Christmas shopping stress for procrastinators.

What we need to do is to

What we need to do is to start a new trend. Wait until the first weekend after New Years to have Christmas. That way, you could buy a lot more with all the sales going on. Think about it.......
