It's been unseasonably warm the past few days. Sunday was the second day of winter -- but it looked like spring in downtown Wilmington. People walking around were dressed in shorts and t-shirts. Some tourists said they were pleasantly surprised. This is the first Christmas in Wilmington for father and daughter Lee and Casey Byrum. They said the weather caught them off guard. "I kind of expected it not to be real cold, but I did expect it to be chilly and that I'd need a light jacket at least," Casey Byrum said. "But not to just come out in a regular long sleeve shirt. I could of worn flip flops and I would've been alright." "Shorts would've been great today," said Lee. It was a bit windy in the downtown area. But it was still warm enough for Lee Byrum to keep his sleeves rolled up.
