If you are after the best cheesesteak in town, many will point you to J. Michael's. Sunday, the authentic Philadelphia-style deli is celebrating 30 years in Wilmington. Cheesesteaks are the specialty, but the friendly folks and sports-bar-like atmosphere also help keep the place packed. There are three locations and some of the most loyal customers in town. "Actually we're really from Philadelphia, so we grew up on steaks,” said Jean Dunn of Wilmington. “When they first opened up, we were here, and we've been supporting them ever since." Greensboro’s Carol Bowden said, "We didn't want to leave Wilmington because we didn't want to leave J. Michael's. It's so good." Co-owner Michael Hutson said, "We're going to celebrate Sunday by building a 79-foot cheesesteak, and we're going to have a cheesesteak eating contest and some dance demonstrations. We're just going to have a party." The festivities kick off this Sunday at 6:00 p.m. at the J. Michael's Philly Deli at Hanover Center on Oleander Drive.

Two guys

I used to be a every friday night We went to Philly. but, it more and more money for no better food. Two guys has a better steak sandwich hands down. Look at the parking lot in ports neck at philly and then look at two guys.. That should tell you something

Love,

Love, Love this place. I'm a cheese lover so the cheese is what makes it and as the other guest mentioned, the fried mushrooms are great too! Never tried cheesesteak sandwich from Two Guys before but I will for comparison. Everyone has their own taste.

Yuck

Ok i'm sorry but this place has the nastiest cheesesteaks around and is way overpriced. The meat and so forth is great but the cheese is some cheap nasty mess and last time I went it was over $20 for two people. Too much for what you get. Give me Two Guys any day!

Once upon a time.....

J Michaels used to be one of the best spots in town. But as the years went on, service got worse, food got Much worse, and their restaruants became a haven for 'illegal activity'. They might as well rename it 'J Michaels Bodega'. I miss the old J Michaels, good food, great service.

Couldn't have said it any

Couldn't have said it any better myself

YUMMY

They are soooo good. Try the fried mushrooms as well. Oh lordy, I know where I'm going to get lunch today. Mmmmmm.

Okkkk

I will admit, they do have great fried mushrooms!
