READ MORE:

John and Elizabeth Edwards have legally separated. The former presidential candidate admitted to an affair in August 2008 with Rielle Hunter, who was a videographer hired by his campaign.

ABC News cites a source close to Elizabeth Edwards saying the couple separated. The network also says John Edwards is no longer living in the couple's Chapel Hill home. The former senator has been spotted in the Wilmington area in recent weeks. The Edwards family owns a home on Figure Eight Island.

John Edwards acknowledged for the first time last week that he fathered a child with Hunter.

Under North Carolina law, the Edwardses can't get divorced for a least a year

Commonsense...........all

Commonsense...........all you say may be true, but she is NOT without blame if the stories about her are true. As mentioned before, I haven't heard of her seeking any lawsuits. First of all, it is nobody's business who, where or when John Edwards messes with. That is his business. As long as he serves the people to the best of his ability, and does it on his own time, who should care? There are too many self-righteous out there who attempt to bring themselves up by bringing somebody else down, who are probably engaged in similar activities. I feel sure most men or women (plenty of them fooling around, too) would attempt to cover up a situation such as this that should be nobody elses concern.

Hey, Commonsense, since you

Hey, Commonsense, since you brought up Clinton, what happened to him was an invasion of his personal privacy. What he did with Monica Lewenski had absolutely nothing to do with how he performed as President and none of nobodys business except himself and his family. When he left office, everyone was working, the US had money, there was little or no war gas was cheap. Bush got in and suddenly the country was going to Hell on a rocket sled, and Bush was never in a scandal. I would much rather have a lying LEADER than an honest Idiot.

He also

lost his license to practice law for lying under oath.

He also set the stage for the terrorist outbreaks which began hitting within months of his leaving office. He showed a weak willed approach to dealing with terrorism; which sadly has been even more ineptly follwed by the current President.

You also forget former President Bush had to deal with a lackluster Congress led by the Pelosi/Reid mindset.

Oh, you also forgot to mention Fannie Mae & Freddie Mac were driven to the brink of financial ruin, and in large part our current economic challenges arrived as a result of the Barney Frank/Chris Dodd led mandate that banks would make loans to unqualified homebuyers who could not afford the home but were "entitled" to be homeowners.

Actually

What happens in the white house/oval office is my, and everyone elses business. He is at work in an elected office and that is how he is spending his time. I would be fired in a second if my boss found out I was getting what he got, in my office. As far him leaving with everyone working, low gas prices, money in everyones pocket and all the other great things, well that is what happens when someone lies and deceives everyone. Whoever comes in next has to deal with cleaning up all the messy lies, bad decisions and pays the price as the bad guy. The problem with a lying leader is you never know when he is lying to you too. I'll take an honest leader anyday.

Uh...yeah...

My point wasn't to spark a Bush bashing. I didn't like him any more than I like Clinton.

My point was that Clinton lied to the point of committing a FELONY. He couldn't stop lying, even when sitting before the special prosecutor. DUMB! And look at what he got impeached for - lying about his affair with a rather plain, tubby girl in a blue dress.

What does that say about his judgment?

No, it wasn't

It wasn't an invasion of his privacy since as best as I recall he did some of his deeds in the Oval Office. Bush went to hell because he had the spine to stand up to terrorists, unlike Clinton.

It certainly IS the voters' business if....

...he has a proven history of lying. What got Clinton impeached? It wasn't the adultery - it was the lying. He lied at the wrong time and place and was found guilty of perjury. He was disbarred.

When a man proves that he has absolutely no integrity whatsoever, why would ANYONE be so foolish as to think, "Oh, he'll always be truthful in regard to his official responsibilities?"

Don't ever accept lying and cheating as normal behavior. It only serves to impeach your credibility and call your integrity into question. In other words, don't defend dirtbags.

But...

If a person can't be straight forward and honest with the person they committed their life to then what chance do I have getting a fair shake from them? IF they will cheat them then am I so foolish to believe they wouldn't cheat me? I just can't stick my head in the sand like that..... but hey... feel free.

Also.... IF she is as bad as some say, and that is just talk IMHO at this point, then he should have had the intestinal fortitude to just end the marriage first. But hell no he wanted it all. He is just another self centered low life. I hope this crashes his world completely. But sadly it won't. He will manage to lie his way along as usual.

John Edward

Come on now.....there are 2 sides to every story. I have heard several times that she is hard to live with and can be a b_____ at times. The real truth will most likely never be told, but both of them are to blame, not just him. I at least give him credit that he has admitted to fathering that beautiful child. Yes, he lied about it at first, but haven't we all lied at one time or another, it's just human nature. (this comes from a woman who has also been cheated on more than once)

As Guest777 mentioned,

As Guest777 mentioned, recent reports are saying that Ms. Edwards is a B*&%h on wheels..............If the stories are true, getting rid of her is probably the best thing that could happen to him. I haven't heard of Ms. "E" trying to sue anyone for slander, either. Wait until the whole story comes out before judging John Edwards.

That's pure nonsense!

"Wait until the whole story comes out before judging John Edwards."

Here's the Cliff Notes version:

He committed adultery.

He lied about it.

He tried to pay off a subordinate to take the rap for his being too stupid to use birth control.

He admitted to the affair only after he was caught and photographed in a Florida hotel with the baby and his mistress.

He still denied paternity.

He finally admitted paternity just before the subordinate's tell-all book comes out.

Now even if, for one moment, we check OUR morals at the door and accept that his wife's personality somehow justified his sordid behavior, WHAT justifies all the lying and attempted coverups? This man was lying a blue streak to America WHILE he was trying to convince America to vote for him.

The man is a pathological liar and has been exposed for exactly what he is. Elizabeth Edwards may be a total shrew, but she deserved better...and she'll be better off without that sleazebag in her life.

other side of the coin

Since you have been cheated on multiple times, would you call yourself a b___h? Do you carry some of the blame of your mate/spouse cheating on you? You seem to want to give him a pass because of that. If we asked your mates/spouses would that say they cheated because you were a b___h?

Great

This just breaks my heart. I hope the wife can take every dime and spend it on Chippendale Dancers and pool boys.

I would have left a long

I would have left a long time ago!!!! Wonder what took her so long.... denial??

Perhaps

when he wraps up his tour in Haiti, he'll go over to Mississippi and join Tiger Woods in rehab. Tiger apparently had a problem with sex and drugs of some sort. Mr. Edwards clearly has a problem with the truth.

And.... it has taken

And.... it has taken Elizabeth Edwards HOW LONG to realize that she did not have a marriage??? You cannot make someone love you--- no matter how high you build the fence around someone, if they want to get out---they will find a way to climb over.

No one knows nor should care

No one knows nor should care how long she knew, why she waited so long, or make any other judgment of Mrs. E. Why sue for slander? She has enough $$ and from my point of view, her days are numbered on this earth, so why waste them on him. Maybe she has decided that because her days are limited, she chooses to live them with as much peace as she can muster. Obviously, that means a life without his cheap celebrity.

white trash

John Edwards is white trash with money!
