Jump Rope for Heart takes place at Alderman Elementary

Kids at Alderman Elementary School were jumping out of their chairs today, and that was a good thing! During gym class, students in every grade took part in Jump Rope for Heart. It is a national program sponsored by the American Heart Association. There were several stations set up, including Single Dutch, Double Dutch, and Limbo. The students said they had a good time, and learned a lot about physical fitness. “It helps people to get interactive and it helps you pump your lungs and your heart to get flowing,” said Ciriniti McCain. Amanda Gilmore added, “We're supposed to Jump Rope for Heart to make people feel better and it's all about having fun today.” All students were encouraged to collect donations from family and friends. The proceeds will go to benefit the American Heart Association.
