Kids at Bolivia Elementary explore the moon

Some kids at Bolivia Elementary know all about the moon. In fact, they have been learning all about it first hand. NASA loaned the school pieces of moon rocks. The school is one of only a handful in the country to get such an opportunity.

"I learned that the moon's highlands are made by the meteors crashing down and forming a file in the stand," said third grader Keith McLaughlin.

Kain Bishop said, "One side is very cold because the sun is not pointing out that way, and the other side is very hot because the sun is shining right at it."

The moon rocks the kids had on loan are so special, the sheriff's department would transport the rocks back and forth to the school every day to make sure they were safe and guarded at all times.
