Kids make their voices heard

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) -- Kids are not letting this election day go by without making their voices heard.

Some junior voters turned out at the Northeast Library on Military Cutoff Road in Wilmington to cast their ballots. Of course the votes don't count, but the children were able to vote for the same candidates that everyone else gets to vote for except the judges.

The goal is to have kids experience the voting process, so that when they're 18, they will carry on their civic duty.

Proud of our boys

I'm proud of our three sons for (two of our boys are featured in the photo) for voting today. As parents, we want our children to understand the privilege and responsibility to participate in the political process.

They told us they voted for Mike McIntyre and Ron Swanson. That made me proud and very concerned at the same time. So, I think we still have some more teaching to do in the future.

Wonder if the Ballots Were the Right Ones

. . . or the ones that omitted candidates names?
