Kitchen Cops 8/14/08

READ MORE:
Just one local restaurant scored poorly enough to make this week's Kitchen Cops low performers list. The Shoals Club on Bald Head Island lost points because an employee ate some pineapple in the kitchen. The inspector found moldy strawberries, priscuitto and milk dated July 22. And a handwash sink in the bar was blocked by dirty containers and blenders. 84 For the Shoals Club. Two local restaurants received high marks from health inspectors. Toscana Café and Gourmet Market at 3715 Patriot Way in Wilmington lost half a point because shelving in reach-in cooler is starting to rust and needs to be replacing and a slicer at the sandwich station had build up on it. Add back two points for workers passing a food safety course, and it's a total of 101.5 for Toscana. And over to Brunswick County and Fibber McGee's in Sunset Beach. The restaurant needs to keep a stem thermometer calibrated. A half-point off and a 99.5 for Fibber McGee's.
