If you're planning to eat out this weekend, there is good news. New Hanover County health inspectors didn't find any low performers this week. But there are a few high performers.
An inspector braved the mess on Military Cutoff and found anything but a mess at the Bento Box in the Forum. A perfect 100 plus two points for workers passing a food safety course.
Up Eastwood Road to pass your plate. The inspector gave a reminder about workers who handle food need to wear hair restraints and all equipment needs to be restaurant approved. But no points off for a top score of 102.
Another reminder about hair restraints and a word about how to keep cooked onions for Pita Delite on South College Road. But still a high score of 102.
To the Subway on North Lake Park Boulevard in Carolina Beach. A half-point off for some cleaning needed. The two-point bonus makes it 101.5.
Back to Wilmington and Martino's Fine Italian Food on Wrightsville Avenue. The inspector says "It is about time to replace/repair cutting boards on front line." But still a perfect 100.
And finally to the Tops Mart in downtown Wilmington. A half-point off for things stored on the floor and a 99.5.
