Kitchen Cops 11/15/07

READ MORE:

Health inspectors marked two Brunswick County restaurants as low performers in this week's Kitchen Cops report.

This week's low performer is Sunrise Pancake House in Calabash. Five points off for foods at the wrong temperature. Five more for foods thawed improperly. And pest control should not use powdered chemicals. 83 for Sunrise Pancake House.

And up the road to Sunset Beach and Magnolias Restaurant. Chicken and hot dogs were too cold. Leftovers were too warm after being stored for a while. And there were flies in the kitchen. 87 for Magnolias Restaurant in Sunset Beach.

Two local restaurants are high performers.

This week's highest score belongs to Eddie Romanelli's at 5400 Oleander Drive in Wilmington. A half-point off for some needed repairs to the ceiling and floors that need cleaning. A two-point bonus for workers passing a food safety course means a score of 101.5.

And to Brunswick County, a perfect 100 for Miramar Deli on Beach Drive in Ocean Isle Beach.
