Kitchen Cops 1/17/08

READ MORE:
In this week's Kitchen Cops report, New Hanover County inspectors found two restaurants worthy of low performer status. Lucky Star at 3922 Market Street in Wilmington lost five points for containers and pans found with food particles on them. It also lost points for a bag of ice on the freezer floor, shrimp thawing at room temperature and food in standing water in the bottom of the cooler. Several things need cleaning and some maintenance is needed as well. 84.5 for Lucky Star. And Waffle House in Monkey Junction narrowly missed low performer status the last time it was inspected. Not so lucky this time. Five points off for soiled containers. Three more containers stored wet. And there were problems with the water temperature. 80.5 for Waffle House. This week's Kitchen Cops high performers list includes two restaurants with spotless reports. Pizza Joe's at Independence Boulevard and Carolina Beach Road just opened a few weeks ago. During its first check, the inspector said, the "Kitchen looks great!" A perfect 100 plus two points for workers passing a food safety course. The same top score of 102 goes to the Zaxby's at 6811 Gordon Road in Ogden. The only problem was that the sanitizer was too strong in one of the sinks.

Waffle House

Have you ever went through one of those inspections. A wet bowl straight out of a dish sanitizer (Before it has had time to dry mind you)gets you points deducted. Most of the problems at the MJ store is the buildings decrepit state not food contamination issues or bugs of any kind. I know there are 3 serve safe qualified people working in that restaurant and the stay on top of any potential issues. That store is scheduled to be torn down and rebuilt, it is not an issue of waffle house corporate not caring about its customers, quit the contrary they care very much for each and ever customer, it is an issue of funding, building permits, & placement of employees while it is rebuilt. As for your generalization that no waffle house can score in the 90's try the Ogdan Waffle House 101.5..

Waffle House

That Myrtle Grove store has been a disaster for years. Try going in the summertime and watch the A/C condensation drip on to the forks/knives/spoons. Pointed it out to the manager and the response was "it won't hurt anything but I'll wipe off yours." Never again for spattered, slathered, dirtied, and disgusting. Good Morning.

Why can't the Waffle House ever get even a decent score?

I want to know why the Waffle House can never manage to get a score in the 90's and 100's like almost every other establishment in Wilmington! It is over and over again! Continual scores in the 80's. Why? Because the Waffle House does not care about its customers! Shut these germ infested eateries down before someone dies because an owner pnly cares about profits !! Yuck Yuck Yuck !!!!

I know Waffle House can't

I know Waffle House can't get any good ratings. I was at court the other day (a friend's DL had expired) and there was a women there that was charged with prostitution. Guess where she worked??? Enough said
